Britton-Hecla offers a Funtastic/OST program for our elementary students that are needing afterschool care. Mrs. Carol Beck is the Director of the program which is state licensed and provides a fun and safe environment for your child. Hours of operation are 3:20 PM-5:30PM. The program follows the school year and is closed on the same days as school, and follows weather closings or early dismissals. Each day when students are dismissed from school they check in with the Funtastic Club Staff at the main hallway by the south elementary entrance doors. After check-in, the student's afternoon begins with a snack then there will be fun
activities to follow. If you are interested in registering your child for
Funtastic Club contact Mrs. Beck by emailing her carol.beck@k12.sd.us or calling 605-448-1242. Tuition for OST is $80/month for a single child, $105/month for a family, $70 for a ten time punch card. A monthly calendar needs to be filled out for each child. If you only need a day, there is also a
$7.00/per day drop in rate. Parents must call ahead and arrange this with Mrs. Beck so that staffing is correct for the day. Tuition is due at the beginning of each month and can be paid by check/cash in the schools Business Office, to Mrs. Beck or OST Staff. Also available this school year you can use CAMPUS Parent Portal to pay with a credit/debit card. Parents will need to have a Parent Portal Login to utilize this option and contact Danelle Elsen in the Business Office.

The Britton-Hecla School District is participating in the National School Nutrition Program. Britton-Hecla School District offers breakfast and lunch meals to all students in our district. For the past two years using USDA waivers
we were able to provide free meals to all families, UNFORTUNATELY due to Congress not extending those waivers MEALS will be paid for by families this
22-23 School Year.
"School meals are bursting with flavorful fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and fat-free and 1% (low-fat) milk. School meals are aligned with dietary specifications that ensure meals contain important vitamins and minerals and are sufficient in calories, but limited in saturated fat, sodium, and trans fat." ~ USDA, Food and Nutrition Service, (2018, July) Menu Planner for School Meals.
Free and reduced price lunches will be made available to those who qualify. Applications may be submitted online via the Campus Parent Portal, printed from the following link https://5il.co/psn9 , Eligibility guidelines can be found here: https://5il.co/psnd-2
or picked up outside the Business Office. These applications are used for more than determining eligibility for free and reduced-priced meals. At the district level, free and reduced student numbers are used to help determine state and federal grant funding. These grants are in important part of the Britton-Hecla's School District budget.
Meal costs are as follows: Student Pricing TBD
Breakfast: K-12 $1.70 Reduced $.30
Adults/Guests $2.35
Lunch: K-5 $2.15, 6-12 $2.45, Reduced $.40

Payments for fees will be accepted starting MONDAY, AUGUST 15th.

Student fees include activity tickets (7-12 students participating in sports activities need to purchase a activity ticket), and OST (Funtastic). Meal payments can be made via the Campus portal, in the business office, or by the red drop box outside the main school doors.
Infinite Campus Portal Payment system allows you to pay fees/meal payments using a credit/debit card. You will need a Campus Parent Portal user ID and password if you would like to use this option. To utilize this payment option for
