The interp team had another great outing at the second Florence Invitational Contest! Coming up Wednesday is the ECC contest at Abbey of the Hills near Marvin, SD, and the local contest will be Monday, October 24 at 5 in the choir and art rooms.


There will be a pep fest celebrating the football team on Thursday at 1:00 in the arena before they head to Howard. It will be livestreamed. Go Braves!

Thank you to our Kitchen Staff for making meals at the Braves Bistro so good! This week was National School Lunch Week and the theme this year was Peace, Love and School Lunch. We celebrated them this week with treats and thank yous for all their hard work.

Parking: Fans are asked to park in the lot on the West side of the football stadium.
Game Ticket/Entry to Stadium: SDHSAA prices - $5 adults & $3 students. No activity passes will be honored. Ticket are sold at the ticket book on the West side of the stadium starting at 5 pm. Entry through Stadium will be West gate only.
Seating: Fans are only allowed to sit in the lower section of the stadium. HSA fans will occupy the South half and BH fans will occupy the North half. East grandstand is also available for fans!

It's National School Breakfast and Lunch week! We want to give a shout out to our Amazing Kitchen Staff who cook and serve amazing breakfasts each day like the one shown in the picture. They have a thankless job and keep everyone at school fed according to National School Lunch Program guidelines (p.s. there's a lot of guidelines to follow). Today for breakfast students had a choice of waffles or cereal, along with milk, orange juice and a choice of fruit.


The Community Health Nurse will be here on Wednesday, Oct. 19th to offer flu shots and covid boosters. Only students and staff with a signed consent form in hand will be given the vaccinations. The Britton-Hecla oral interp team traveled to Florence this past Saturday. Congratulations to Brynlee for earning a Superior in storytelling. Carter, Noah, and Emily (not pictured) earned Excellent Pluses.

We are excited to announce that we have created a scholarship program in conjunction with the following universities:
• South Dakota State University
• North Dakota State University
• Murray State University
There will be (3) $1,500 scholarships given to attendees of each university with an additional $1,500 scholarship flexible between universities dependent on applicants for a grand total of $15,000 in scholarship funds available. These will not be contributions to each university’s general scholarship fund, but something where we select the recipients and administer the program. Applicants must be full-time students working toward a two-year or four-year undergraduate degree with at least 30 completed college credits and two semesters minimum on the campus of one of the select universities. Preference to students studying agriculture, business, or related field with the desire to work in the agriculture sector. The recipient of each scholarship will also have a one-day commitment to shadow a farm marketing consultant for a day (in the office or on-farm) and gain exposure to Hurley & Associates' mission in action.
