BHS sent three staff members to the TIE (Technology& Innovation in Education) Conference in Sioux Falls this week. Paula Hanson (4th grade), Salina Pena (Middle School) and Stacy Bennett (Network Administrator) learned about the latest tech trends, applications, and teaching strategies to use in their classrooms and share with staff.

It's not too late to enjoy the Friday evening performance of our All School Play, "George Washington Slept Here." Show starts at 7:00 PM in the Amacher Auditorium.

The Orville Pfitzer Relays scheduled in Britton for Tuesday, April 16th has been moved to MONDAY, APRIL 15th. We are trying to avoid the rain.
Field events start at 2 pm with Running events at 3 pm.

Nominating petitions to become a school board member can be taken out starting today, April 9th. There is one position open for candidacy-Mandy Carlson (3-year term). Petitions can be picked up at the Britton-Hecla Business Office. Completed petitions must be filed with the business manager by end-of-day on Friday, May 10th. If more than 1 petition is filed, the election will be held on June 18th. The 3-year term will begin in July. Come enjoy a night of laughs with our theater department as we proudly present "George Washington Slept Here"! Synopsis: Newton Fuller fulfills a lifetime ambition: to own his very own home in the country. He drags his family out to their own personal "Green Acres," to set up homesteading in a wreck of a house. But with a little bit of faith and a lot of guts, maybe they can make this house into a home. Will they flip the house or just flip out?

Britton-Hecla - Weekly Activities - April 8, 2024


A personal trainer from Avera Human Performance Center will be here on Monday, April 15th after school to talk with all kids (grades 6-11) and coaches about the importance of strength training. Anyone who is regularly attending weight room or interested in it, meet in the Amacher immediately following the final bell. This will be the first in a series of visits. Some of the topics will be enhancing athletic performance, proper lifting form, the importance of strength training, supplements and nutrition.

Blessed with the best! We are so lucky to have the these paraprofessionals at BH school. Their work is so very, very important. We celebrate them this week, along with our fantastic librarian, Mrs. Olson. Not pictured is Mrs. Henley. Thanks for all you do para staff!
