    October is National Bullying Prevention Month

    STUDENTS:

    October 16 – 20 – School Bus Driver Appreciation Week - Have you ever taken a moment to think about the people who work tirelessly every single day to make sure your child can get to school safely and then drop them back off at home? The people who endure the shrieks, laughter and general noise of tens of children confined to one small space for hours on end, day in and day out? Please take a moment to thank the men and women for the efforts they make in keeping our children safe each and every day.

     Wear RED & WHITE on THURSDAY for our home football playoff game against Clark-Willow Lake.  Also since this is a state sanctioned pay-off game, activity tickets do not work.  They will be serving grilled burgers- $4.00; hotdogs for $3.00; chips/bars for $1.00 eachProceeds to help 7th grade boys going to the Target Center.

    Elementary volleyball - The last practice will be TODAY, Oct. 17th.

    Jr. Craft Club will meet at the Britton Public Library TODAY, Oct. 17th, 3:30-4:30.  Open to kids in grades 3-8.  Our craft theme for this week is BATS & PUMPKINS!

    The American Cancer Society will be serving pie and sandwiches at the Britton/Hecla vs Langford “Dig for A Cure” Volleyball Game on October 17thFree will offering.

    Flu Shots – An influenza vaccination clinic for school-age children will be held at the Britton-Hecla School on Wednesday, October 18th.  Information and Consent Forms have gone home with K-6 students.

    Students in grades K-2 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult the child feels comfortable with.

    Ping Pong Re-takes will be Wednesday, October 25thWeds. Oct. 25: Ping Pong picture re-takes. If you were absent the day they took pictures you should plan on having yours done this date. If you want re-takes you must bring your original packet with you and the cost is $6.

    Britton –Hecla Gymnastics – 6th grade girls if you are interested in joining the Junior High Gymnastics Program this year please fill out the surveys that were sent home yesterday and return to the office by Oct. 25th.  Practice will start Nov. 6th, right after school until about 5:15 on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays.  All 6th grade girls participating MUST have a sports physical before they can participate in practice.   If you have questions, please call Goach Grupe @ 470-0474.

    The Student Council will be holding their annual carnival Friday, October 27th from 6:00-8:30 in the arena.  Games, Bingo, prizes, pie and treats!

    Are you interested in being in the Snow Queen talent show on Saturday, November 11th? There are two divisions and cash prizes are awarded for each. The Jr. division is 15 yrs. and younger and the Sr. division is 16 yrs. and older.
